Cedar Strip Canoe

Hand built cedar strip canoe for my parents 25th wedding anniversary.

This canoe was built in 2003 while I was living in Barrie, ON. It took over 150 hours to build from start to finish. All cedar was ripped and profiled manually from my small workshop. The West System epoxy/fibreglass was used for a crystal clear finish. A marine varnish was added to all surfaces to make everything UV resistant.

The finished length is roughly 15′ 6″ and the capacity should be roughly 750 lbs.
